FIRST INTERNATIONAL GREEN WINE COMPETITION™ IDENTIFIES 153 OUTSTANDING GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE "GREEN" WINES
"Which Outstanding Wines Should 'Green' Consumers Buy?"
At the first International Green Wines Competition held on May 5 in California, 15 judges among the world's acknowledged leaders in wines made from organic and biodynamically-grown grapes led by Paul Dolan - America's pioneer in organic winemaking and Honorary Chairman - evaluated a total of 271 entries from 6 states (California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Texas, and Illinois) and 11 foreign countries including Cyprus, Portugal, Canada, Chile, Argentina, Italy, Spain, France, Lebanon, New Zealand and Australia.
The results: 153 award-winning wines. The15 Gold, 58 Silver, and 80 Bronze medal-winners are listed in The 2008 Consumer's Green Wine Shopping List™, which is available as a free download at www.greenwinecomp.info.
Bonterra at McNab Ranch in Mendocino County -one of the oldest organic vintners in America - won two Gold medals for its 2005 Merlot and 2006 Sauvignon Blanc, plus an additional four silver and five bronze medals.

U.S. WINERIES TAKE 14 MEDALS AT EUROPE’S PRESTIGIOUS WINE COMPETITION
Eight U.S. wineries were awarded a total of 14 medals -- one Great Gold, six Gold and seven Silver medals -- at the 15th annual Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) international wine competition, one of the top international, professional wine and spirits competitions in the world. . “With an esteemed panel of 240 internationally renowned judges and almost 6,200 wines and spirits being judged, the medals awarded to these U.S. wineries are a true testament to their place amongst the best in the world,” said Thomas Costenoble, Director of the CMB.
U.S. entrants medaled over twice as often as the competition average, with 61% of the wineries receiving awards – compared to 28% from all other entries combined. The U.S. entrants also outperformed many of the world’s top wine producing countries, including Italy (by 37%), France (by 36%), Spain (by 28%), Australia (by 26%) and Chile (by 20%).

ITALIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OFFERS MONTHLY ITALIAN COOKING SHOW
The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce, Southeast, in Miami is organizing the second edition of Italian Cooking Show a 4-class cooking show series scheduled on the following Thursdays: May 22, June 19, July 17, August 21, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Italian chefs will compete in a culinary battle of Italian regional specialties, after which a reception will follow till 9:30 p.m. The classes, limited to 40 people, will take place at the Mia Cucina Showroom,- 105 Miracle Mile,- Coral Gables.
