Culinaria: An Introduction to the American Kitchen for those new to the United States and its food markets. Taught fully in Spanish by Chef Jeanette, this course explores ingredients from herbs and spices to cuts of meats and the bounty of vegetables. Students will get familiarized with the English names of these ingredients while learning new techniques and recipes coming from a wide range of cuisines such as French, Asian, and Italian. The course is divided into 4 sessions: Knife Skills & Soups, Fish Entrees, Poultry Entrees and Meat Entrees. Classes meet once a week on Tuesdays for four weeks and is priced at $399 per student.

Student chefs will receive recipe cards and cooking notes for easy step-by-step reference. Upon completion of the class, graduates will receive a certificate of participation and a signature Azul apron. Classes are held Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
